Day 1: Tangier - Chefchaouen
This 5 Days Desert Trip From Tangier to Marrakech will take you through some of the country’s most stunning landscapes. The journey begins in Tangier, then winds through the untouched Rif Mountains, where breathtaking views of the blue sea and rugged peaks create a mesmerizing contrast.
Our first stop is Tetouan, a hidden gem with a rich Spanish influence and a beautifully preserved medina. By the afternoon, we’ll reach the famous blue city of Chefchaouen, where you’ll have time to explore its picturesque streets, lined with white and blue-washed buildings, artistic boutiques, and the charming Uta el-Hammam Square. After a leisurely stroll through this enchanting town, we’ll take you to your hotel, where you’ll settle in for a relaxing overnight stay. (B)
Day 2: Chefchaouen - Meknes - Fes
After breakfast, we will continue our 5 Days Desert Trip From Tangier to Marrakech with a visit to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. From Volubilis, we’ll drive 30 km to explore Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the former Ismaili capital. Here, we’ll visit iconic landmarks such as Bab Al-Mansour, the impressive Sahrij Souani basin, the royal stables, the granary, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. After an enriching day of historical exploration. After that, we’ll continue our journey to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional riad or hotel. (B)
Day 3: Fes - Merzouga desert
After breakfast, we’ll set off towards Ifrane, passing through Imouzzer along the way. Known for its cold climate, snowfall, and alpine-style architecture, Ifrane is often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Next, we’ll visit the cedar forest of Azrou, home to the Barbary macaques. You’ll have the chance to walk through the forest and even feed these playful wild monkeys.
Our journey continues to Midelt, where you’ll have free time for lunch before we cross the Tizi-n-Tilghmt Pass and follow the scenic Ziz Valley, making several panoramic stops along the way. By afternoon, we’ll arrive at the Merzouga Sahara Desert, where an unforgettable adventure awaits. You’ll ride camels across the golden dunes, pausing on a high dune to take in the mesmerizing sunset over the vast desert landscape. Upon reaching our desert camp, a perfect blend of traditional nomadic tents and luxury accommodations, you’ll enjoy an evening of Berber drumming, dancing around the campfire, and stargazing under the endless Sahara sky. Day 4: Merzouga - Dades Valley

Then, just outside Erfoud, we’ll explore an ancient underground irrigation system, offering insight into how the oases were once irrigated. Next, we’ll head to the Todra Gorges, one of Morocco’s most spectacular canyons. Here, you’ll have time to take a refreshing walk along the river, surrounded by towering cliffs.
In the late afternoon, we’ll pass through Dades town and venture deeper into the Dades Valley. Along the way, we’ll stop to admire the Monkey Fingers rock formations, shaped by centuries of wind and rain erosion.
Another highlight will be the Tisdrin Curves, a famous winding road where Cadillac once set a record and filmed an advertisement. Finally, we’ll arrive at our accommodation in the Dades Gorges, where you’ll spend the night, marking the end of Day 4 of our 5-day Morocco itinerary from Tangier. (D.B)
Day 5: Dades Gorges - Ait ben Haddou - Marrakech
After breakfast, we will continue our journey to Kalaat Magouna to visit the Rose Valley, famous for its annual Rose Festival held in May. During this time, locals showcase a variety of rose-based products, including perfumes, rose water, essential oils, and cosmetics.
Next, we’ll pass through the lush palm groves of Skoura before arriving in Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa.” Here, we will visit the renowned film studios, where numerous famous movies were filmed, as well as the historic Kasbah Taourirt. We then proceed to explore one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks, the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fortified village has served as a backdrop for numerous Hollywood films such as Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and TV series like Game of Thrones.
After exploring Ait Benhaddou, we continue our drive towards Marrakech, crossing the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass and the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll stop for lunch and take photos at scenic viewpoints. Finally, we will drop you off at your Riad in Marrakech, marking the end of your unforgettable 5 Days Trip From Tangier to Marrakech. (B)
